Good Teacher is a Good Hero

If Superman was known by people as a hero who showed his bravery and extraordinary power to help citizen, a teacher was known and respected because his work to learn and educate their students. Many people want to be like Superman in their fantasy because he looked so cool and great. But they forgot the hero in real lief . We get Superman’s exceptional action in the movie or comic but  the teacher’s work is not fiction.  Superman overcome the citizen’s problem and a teacher moreover. A teacher can make personages: doctor, police, army, scientist, architect, and much more.

To be a teacher is a good wish. Becoming it is needed patience, carefulness, sincerity, and creativity. Patience in facing students, sincerity in transfering knowledges, and creativity in teaching. All of them makes you a good teacher perfectly. If you want to be a teacher actually you should have a special characteristic. Based on the character, teacher was divided into several categories:

The first is a text book-teacher who always used the text book in every teaching. Whole of the utternce and expression of him/her is based on the text book.  Basically a teacher must have reference books as material of teaching. But, a teacher also must guard the students with explaining the material to make them perfectly understand.

The second is a researcher teacher. We can find this one in mathematical and natural sciences class. The teacher’s talk and teaching based on scientific facts. Therefore, this teacher is easy to be received and understand by her/his students. If there is a student who have a cheat with his friend or make a copy-paste from internet automatically will be known by this teacher.

The third is a fashionable teacher. This type of teacher  always tries to be perfect in front of students. This teacher usually wear the accessories as outfit to interest students and other teachers in the college or school.

The fourth is an invisible teacher. This type of teacher infrequently come into the class but he/she always give some assignments for students frequently. There are two reasons why the teacher come into the class infrequently. The first he/she has an other activities out of the class and the second is laziness. It is not a good example because students could not ask questions directly when they don’t understand about the material.

The fifth is a killer teacher. This type of teacher is very firm in teaching and scoring. Usually this teacher has many rules for students. For example: Nobody go out of the class during lesson, nobody come late into the class, nobody talk with friends during the class, and so on. Students have no bravery to collide the rules because the punishment or anger.

The sixth is a friendly teacher. This type is usually favourited by students. This teacher has a good communication and ability to approach students. He/she can make a pleasing situation in the class so that students enjoyed and pleased during lesson, example: make a joke among his/her expalanation of material.

That’s all types of teacher based on character. Recently, a teacher should have a good and creative performance and always up to date with many things. Reading or searching many references makes the perfection. A good teacher is who can communicate with students well and have a knowledges more than them. If you can be a good teacher, you can be a good hero equally.

Puisi: Mengeluh?

Aku kagum kepadanya...
Yang mampu:

Tersenyum saat hati getir
Bangkit walau sedang lumpuh
Berteriak walau suara serak
Tertawa walau sedang rapuh
Berlari walau kaki sakit

Bernyanyi walau tak bisa bicara
Memandang walau tak bisa melihat
Mencoba mengerti walau tuli
Bermain walau tak ada yang mengajaknya main

Kepadanya
Aku tersenyum,
Aku menunduk malu

Masihkah ada kesempatan untukku
Untuk mengeluh
Hanya karena tugas-tugas kuliahku?

Aku punya permadani terbang
Yang siap mengantarkanku kemana saja
Aku juga punya jubah menghilang
Yang siap menyembunyikanku dimana saja

Berkat mereka...
Menikmati pemandangan gadis-gadis cantik Moskwa
Menyaksikan keanggunan tari angsa

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa melihat istana Buckingham
Memperhatikan Pangeran William sedang mencium pipi Kate
Dengan Pangeran George di pangkuan mereka

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa menikmati angkuhnya White House
Diam-diam masuk ke dalamnya
Makan malam dengan Obama

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa menyentuh ujung menara Eiffel
Menyaksikan pemandangan kota Paris nan Modis
Sungguh kota yang romantis

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa berdiri diujung Pyramid
Merasakan panasnya Giza
Menikmati eksotisnya pantai Alexandria

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa selfie dengan gajah India
Menari-nari dengan ular cobra
Oh lucunya

Berkat mereka...
Aku berdecak kagum dengan megahnya Hagia Sophia
Menatap lukisan Yesus dan kaligrafi Al-Qur’an
Dalam satu bangunan

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa merasakan asamnya kimchi
Melihat uniknya Istana Biru
Anyeongasheo Korea

Berkat mereka...
Aku bisa melihat sakralnya Ka’bah
Meneguk segarnya air zam-zam
Oh nikmatnya sembahyang di Masjidil Haram

Dalam do’a ku berharap

English Must be Fun for Children

Currently foreign language is not as trivial as it was formerly. Mastering it entirily is substansial thing that can make someone is looked ‘different’ from others. It can be found in job vacancy that one of the prerequirements to get the job is be able to speak English fluently. So it can be concluded that foreign language especially English is required. If this statement is allright, the matter is how far people focusing to learn English itself. Many people have their methods to overcome this matter. And one of the methods is ‘learning English from an early age’. And this role is held by parents actually. Looking many English courses in many places shows us that parents today think that is better to put their children into English course so that their children can communicate in English fluently. But the matter is all children don’t have passion as same as their parents. Some children enjoy in learning English and some children are not. So in this paper will be explained how should parents treat their children in learning English?
“A child like as a dry sponge which was added to water, it absorbs everything." said Tanti Widya Rani, M.Psi, a psychologist in Kompasiana (2013). According to that statement can be conluded that chidren are very sensitive to every information their received either from their family, schoolmate, teacher, and everything which can give an information to them. And it is genuinely influential to their mindset. So if parents don’t use the appropriate method to child in order to be able to do something, of course it doesn’t work maximally. In this case for example, the wrong method is when parents demand their child to learn English without knowing their child’s interest and passion at first. Directing children to positive works is good, but it will be better if it is done by using the appropriate methods according to the children’s interest and passion. Children usually don’t like anything sounds serious which can make them confused and stressed. So if parent or teacher teach English to children with methods that they dislike so the information and impression which was received by them is ‘learning English is boring and annoying’. And it is not right if we blame children about this case.
It is generally accepted that children and adults have different toughts. Therefore,  knowing what children interested and liked is the first step before demand them to learn something. It can be cloncluded that children will learn a foreign language more easily if it is integrated with another subject especially which related to their interest and passion.
Creative method is required to make them fresh and feel fun. For instance, by studying in the park so that children can see a lot of things such as trees, flowers, butterflies, chair, people, grass, and whatever he saw in the park. So eventually a good impression is formed in the child's mind. A child think that he get lots of fun and know new things from that. When a good impression formed in child’s mind it is a good occasion to teach him English of the objects he saw in the park. Instead of feeling bored, the child even interested and enjoy it. And there are a lot of subjects can be integreted to learn English such as music, movie, game, funny pictures, and other things which are liked by children.
Learning is the duty of a child but playing happily is their right either. A good impression will result something good. So by showing them a good impression in learning English, of course they would think that learning English is fun.

Baper?
